Author: Disability Justice Project

The Disability Justice Project (DJP) is a nonprofit newsroom that works with disabled journalists and activists around the world to produce reporting and documentary storytelling about disability and social justice. Through training, mentorship, and editorial support, the DJP supports contributors to develop stories rooted in lived experience and local knowledge. Since 2021, the organization has trained more than 100 activists from over 30 countries, including intensive fellowships that support participants in producing original reporting and films. The DJP’s work explores how disability intersects with issues such as climate change, healthcare, migration, and conflict, bringing perspectives that are often missing from mainstream news coverage.
