Proud Stutter is a podcast about changing how we understand and talk about stuttering.

Host Maya Chupkov interviews Raphael Stark, a teenager who stutters and founder/president of CHATS, a Hawaii-based nonprofit for youth with speech challenges. In the following two episodes he shares his early experiences with bullying, his choice to educate rather than retaliate, and the “running thesaurus” mental work of avoiding trigger sounds, emphasizing that stuttering can be managed with strategies and support.
